IPPOSI at the 2017 PPI Summer School, Limerick

//IPPOSI at the 2017 PPI Summer School, Limerick

IPPOSI took part in the University of Limerick’s second Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Summer School (organised by the University’s Health Research Institute).

Once again, we hosted an ‘Expert Patients in Action’ workshop. This was facilitated by IPPOSI’s Laura Kavanagh and Gemma Killeen, and they were joined by EUPATI fellows Joan Jordan (MS Ireland) and Julie Power (Vasculitis Ireland).

The purpose of the workshop was to describe the various roles of patients and the organisations that represent them in the Irish health research environment. Julie Power outlined the ethics review process in medicines research and development, and Joan Jordan addressed the issue of reporting side effects from medicines

The Summer School is designed for individuals who wish to develop their knowledge and access resources for Public and Patient Involvement in health research.
