Patient Submissions in HTA: Have your say

/, News/Patient Submissions in HTA: Have your say

The National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) has launched a public consultation on its revised Patient Submission Process.

IPPOSI strongly encourages all its members – particularly patient members – to engage in this process and help improve the quality and impact of future patient submissions to the Irish HTA process.

The details of the consultation are on the NCPE website, click the button below to go there. The last link on the page (MS Word Doc) is the feedback form, and it will seek your feedback on four elements:

  1. The overall Patient Submission Process
  2. Draft Patient Organisation Submission of Evidence Template
  3. Draft Guidance document on completing the Patient Organisation Submission of Evidence Template
  4. Draft Patient Organisation Database Registration Form

Background

In 2016, following work by IPPOSI and the wider patient community, the NCPE introduced the first Patient Submission form. The updated version that this consultation is concerned with is a direct response to patient feedback. As stated in the feedback form, the Patient Submission Process was reviewed in late 2017 with input from HSE decision-makers, patient organisations who previously made submissions (there have been 16 submissions to date) and participants of the IPPOSI Patient Education Programme.
