Irish Stem Cell Foundation
For Stem Cell Awareness Day (5th October 2011), the Irish Stem Cell Foundation will release a new 5 minute movie on its website (www.irishstemcellfoundation.org) which will focus on what the public should know about stem cells and what challenges currently face Irish Stem Cell Researchers in assisting the International effort to use stem cells to fight disease and injury. The Foundation will also be updating the public from the World Stem Cell Summit via its twitterfeed as well as doing several interviews and articles about stem cells with the Irish media.
The Irish situation regarding stem cell research has been reported internationally this year both by Reuters (www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/21/us-stemcell-scams-idUSTRE78K18120110921) and Nature (http://blogs.nature.com/news/2011/02/irish_election_raises_question.html )
