International Clinical Trials Day

IPPOSI will be speaking at an event to celebrate International Clinical Trials Day. The event takes place on May 10th 2018 in the Mansion House, Dublin 2, and is organised by the HRB Clinical Research Co-ordination Ireland. This event is fully booked but there is a standby list. Go here for more information (including full agenda), or go here to register. The event is set to run from 9am to 3pm.

The latest meeting of the Irish EUPATI Platform takes place on May 10th from 3-5pm in the Royal Irish Academy, Dawson St., Dublin 2.  This meeting takes place next door, and immediately after, the CRCI mansion house event described above.  Any IPPOSI member interested in all things related to patient education can join the platform.  Contact [email protected] to join.

Also, the Annual General Meeting of the 18-strong EUPATI National Platforms Network takes place in Berlin next week, IPPOSI will be there, represented by Derick Mitchell, and ENP Co-ordinator Gemma Killeen. There is a packed agenda, we look forward to reporting on this in the coming weeks.

Integrated Care Conference

16 IPPOSI members will attend the ‘Person-centredness & Integrated Care Conference’ in UCD on May 15th. The full agenda for the day should be available from next week, go here to contact the event organisers.  The event will be opened by Derick Mitchell, IPPOSI CEO and has applied for the #Patientsincluded charter status.  IPPOSI would like to thank three of the Patient Education Programme graduates who reviewed research abstracts ahead of the event.

IPPOSI will publish an update in the coming weeks on progress to date under the 2018 annual theme. This month, IPPOSI made this submission to the NCPE’s public consultation on their patient submission process and form.  Also, we would strongly recommend reading this recent article by Susan Mitchell in the Sunday Business Post, which addresses in depth the question of Orphan Drugs in Ireland.

We urge you to keep a close watch for this email, without your consent IPPOSI will no longer be able to send you news of events, conference offers, networking opportunities, webinars and more.
