Patient Ambassadors needed for SCI:COM Conference

/, News/Patient Ambassadors needed for SCI:COM Conference

We would like to inform IPPOSI patient members that we have organised 10 free registrations for IPPOSI Patient Members for the SCI:COM conference in Dublin on Dec 3rd, 2019.

SCI:COM is Ireland’s premier conference on Science Communication and this opportunity has been created in conjunction with the conference organisers and with the support of IPPOSI industry member, Novartis.

As part of the 2019 SCI:COM theme of examining creativity in science communication, and as part of the 2019 IPPOSI Theme of ‘Patient Data’ we are trialing an IPPOSI-organised Play:Decide game/workshop on Dec 3rd. Successful applicants are requested to take part in this Play:Decide workshop.

Date:     Tuesday, December 3rd

Time:    11:45 – 13:00

Venue: AVIVA Stadium, Dublin

In order to manage the allocation of these 10 ‘Patient Ambassador’ places (worth 125 euro each), we ask that interested parties forward a 50-80 word ‘expression of interest’  by email to by the deadline of Friday, November 8th, 5pm.

This email should outline the relevance of the workshop for your (organisation’s) ambitions in relation to Patient Data , and how you might be able to assist in further developing/disseminating learnings from the workshop.  In the interests of fairness, only one place can be allocated per patient organisation.  Successful applicants will receive free access to the conference for December 3rd only, which enables you to access all sessions including presentations and discussions with a range of contributors including Blindboy and Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin.

What is Play:Decide?

Play Decide is a card game that enables players to get familiar with a ‘tricky’ issue or question, to see it from different perspectives and to form or clarify their own opinion. The Play:Decide format has been used across a wide range of activities by education providers, science engagement professionals, civil society organisations and professional trainers.
