Irish Platform for Patient Organisations, Science & Industry

eHealth (Electronic Health) is defined by the World Health Organization, as the use of information and communication technologies for health. In more recent years, the term eHealth has been superseded to some extent by the term ‘Digital Health’. In 2019, the Journal of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth made an attempt to parse the differing definitions of digital health and eHealth.

An eHealth Ireland strategy was published in late 2013. The strategy creates a vision for Ireland and has been recognised internationally as a vision for a modern health system, underpinned by Digital Health.
