IPPOSI is facilitating a series of online discussions to explore public and patient involvement in Ireland. This first was an online discussion (see above) which focused on exploring the appetite – within the patient community – for introducing a system of public and patient involvement across the health system in Ireland. We think the findings from our poll show resounding support for our health leaders to make a strategic commitment to system-wide public and patient involvement. The next event in this series will take place in September and it will focus on sharing examples of systems of public and patient involvement used in other health systems. A final event will take place towards the end of the year and it will identify some of the building blocks which may need to be put in place to facilitate public and patient involvement on a more systemic level.
